When reaching a certain age you believe to have all dramatic changes behind you and convinced that nothing will interrupt that little life of yours. I’ve had dreams of retiring somewhere in Greece, get a cat and a dog, pick up painting and casually enjoy the rest of my life picking olives, collecting seashells and getting drunk on Sundays. The events of 28 February 2011 changed all this in a heartbeat. Leelawadee Lili was born on that day and the first time I had her in my arms realized that the purpose of my life just took a sharp detour and landed somewhere in the unknown. That was the moment I decided to do everything in my power to keep her next to me as long as I can thus avoiding the chance to have yet another child growing up without actually knowing his/her father. She was a planned child but things were happening way too fast. Her mom and I had to get married in order to get her to Kuwait and she got pregnant two days after the ceremony so by the time we finished the formalities was already three months pregnant and I had to look for proper medical care. Finally ended up getting her covered by my company insurance and we picked London Hospital in Fintas for the delivery being the closest to Mahboula, the place I was able to rent a decent apartment or at least that’s what I was thinking. Her name is the new Thai name of my favorite flower, the frangipani or better known as plumeria in most non-Asian countries. The second name Lili was meant to be the Hungarian one, also being used as her nick. It is an entirely different flower but the vocal similarity is quite remarkable and I honestly see nothing wrong with using the two together or separate for that matter. I just knew that she will be beautiful and happy, a bundle of joy to brighten up the rest of my days and beyond.
